The ancient wisdom of Ayurveda has long been regarded as the sister science to yoga. In Sanskrit, Ayus, or “life”, and veda, “science”, translates to the science of life. Ayurveda teaches us how to live in balance with nature, and offers a holistic approach to healing the body. It embraces all aspects of life: physical, energetic, mental, emotional and spiritual. The objective is to reach a balance between all these aspects to achieve vibrant health. The study of Ayurveda helps us to realize our uniqueness and treat our individual ailments on the basis that one size does not fit all.
In this mostly lecture style workshop, you will be introduced to the basic principles of Ayurveda, and learn how to identify your individual dosha, your individual body type.Once you identify your dosha, you can begin the process of finding balance within your physical, mental, and spiritual body according to your individual constitution. This consists of learning how to tailor your daily life to suit your individual diet, exercise, sleep, emotional support, mental and spiritual needs. Informational handouts will be given, but bring notebooks and pens to take notes.
