In 2006, I hobbled into a yoga studio after sustaining an injury while training for my first of many marathons. Not wanting to go through physical therapy, I asked if yoga could help me heal. Maintaining a consistent yoga practice,I not only healed from the initial injury but yoga also prevented many more as it strengthen my body on a deeper level and soon enough I also started to see the benefit of the peace it provided my mind. I was hooked.
In 2011, being passionate about health and wellness and wanting to serve my community in this forum,I became certified as a yoga teacher earning my first 200 hr. certification.
In 2013, being a lifelong lover of learning and having an inquisitive mind, I enrolled in the Loyola Marymount University Yoga Therapy Rx Program and completed an advanced certification in yoga therapy at the 500 hr. Level in 2015 at the clinical level.
In 2016, wanting to deepen my yoga therapy practice I enrolled at Loyola once again to train at the rigorous 800 hr. level and after working with private therapy clients since 2013, I passed the vigorous certification process by the International Association of Yoga Therapists 2017.
Many of my teachers were medical doctors, physical therapist, psychologists, Ayurveda specialists, chiropractors, and the country’s top yoga therapists.
My work with groups and individuals inspired me to develop many therapeutic workshops that have sold out many times because they are very purposeful.
I find my private work with individuals to be equally gratifying while teaching lifestyle education skills to help relieve chronic conditions.
Speaking Spanish is a plus for me as it helps me reach more people.
I believe health and wellness is the right of every individual and within our reach. Knowledge comes from experience and I teach what I have experienced first hand to be healing to myself.
I truly enjoy learning and teaching am currently pondering what certification I will pursue next!
